A delicately-flavoured Tequila with aromatic overtones of white pepper, smoke and vanilla. This has the smooth and sweet, agave essence of a fine Tequila, with the characteristic oaky undertone of a well-aged Tequila.
Tequila displays its agave flavours instantly, with a sweet yet oaky finish. It is very much for sipping, and is a really special Tequila.
This Tequila certainly captures the spirits of the Mexican character, both in style and colour. It is a very smooth creamy Tequila with a full, lingering finish and subtle proof that makes it perfect to sip!
This is a smooth Tequila, delivered in a large, test tube-style bottle. The Reserva is a smooth Tequila, although a little high in proof for our money.
It has a subtle oakyness and vanilla undertones. This is a smooth Tequila, with a subtle, warm agave fruitiness.
It has the heavy texture and warming, heavy aromas of a very mature Tequila. Even better, this is a more authentic look at an aged tequila than the burgeoning and overpriced trend of aging tequila in used bourbon barrels from famed brands like Old Rip Van Winkle — an interesting idea, to be sure, but one which is far more about marketing than taste.
Trying before you buy is always recommended for something new, which this might be even for tequila lovers. Of the major spirits, barrel aging has caught on most slowly with tequila.
In North America, this is partly due to its reputation as a party drink-ideal for shots or mixers and little else, much like vodka.
The brand name of this particular bottlecomes from the very year tequila was first aged in oak barrels, well over years ago. I see this limited distribution as a hopeful sign.
That attention to quality is evident in the bottle, which is one of the best you can find at a reasonable price.
Its finish is described as spicy and well rounded with flavors of toasted oak, vanilla and butterscotch. This deep, luxurious tequila is ideal for sipping.
About the Author Mark Casey Mark likes any drink that's been aged in a barrel. You can put almost anything into a barrel, new or used, and it will come out infinitely more delicious on the other side.
For the price IMHO this is a good value on its own merits. My first bottle of anejo and, to be honest, is very heavily oaked. The pepper agave flavour is somewhat obscured but this is a very smooth drop best taken neat or lightly chilled with ice.
Personally I prefer a good reposado or crisp blanco where the agave is more prominent but this is almost creamy in its mouthfeel. Bit oaky if you like that sorta thing, good enough to sip over ice so wasted on cocktails.
Not bad but even though the heavy oak makes it smooth but imo it's overkill if you actually like your Tequila to of Agave. I'm gettin an tattoo x.

Notes : This is aged rested in primarily in French oak with a small amount of American oak for up to 3 years.
